If you do not publicize your work, who will?
It only takes one person hearing about what you do to change your life.
If you do not publicize your work, who will? Was the question I asked myself a couple weeks back, before I summoned the courage to start sharing my newsletter link in places I never thought I would.
For some time now, I have been feeling a nudge from within, to openly talk about and share my newsletter with people, but I kept pushing back because I felt uncomfortable. I felt uncomfortable because the thought of people reading my newsletter and thinking it wasn’t good enough or cringe made me feel like throwing up or entering the ground. So any time I felt that nudge I gave myself a million reasons why it wasn’t necessary to share it on my social media platforms or tell people about it.
Until recently when I met someone, who was quite impressed with my newsletter, asked me why I didn’t really publicize it. It really got me thinking, and it was then I realized that I was really short-changing myself. Because of the fear of what people would think of my work I unconsciously prevented people that could possibly have an interest in my work from seeing it because I didn’t share it.
What I’ve come to realize now is that the more you put your work out there, the more aware people become of your work and the more likely they are going to take you seriously. The more publicity you have the further you go. Since I started speaking up and sharing the link of my newsletter I have started seeing an increase in my subscribers count. So don’t sell yourself short by not sharing your craft.
One thing most people take for granted is word of mouth, and the funny thing is that it only takes one person hearing about your work, for your whole life to transform. So don’t be shy to tell people what you do. Don’t be shy to say, you are a YouTuber, or a writer, or a singer or a content creator. You never know who is going to link you to your destiny helper, so speak up and tell the world what you do.
Honestly it’s quite uncomfortable at the beginning to put your work out there, because it opens you up to criticism. But always remember that regardless of how uncomfortable it may seem, it will surely pay off at the end. As a point of reference take a look at Rema, Ayra Starr or Ruger and many other creatives that are in the limelight. All of these people have the careers they have now because they weren’t afraid to share their craft with the world.
So anytime you feel shy or scared to share your work with the world, remember the plethora of opportunities that could come your way as a result of doing that.
In light of this, abeg please help me share this newsletter with people. Make my destiny helper no pass me by🙏
Anyway thank you for reading this newsletter to this point, it really means a lot to me. Please don’t forget to like, comment and share. Wishing you a beautiful week ahead. Bye, see you next week.
Peace
